3to11 is a 3-TET to 11-TET synthesizer that treats each of these temperaments as a chromatic mode.
simplesynth is a sawtooth wave synthesizer that accepts step patterns and a bell note and then tunes your keyboard according to the calculated mode.
synthsquare, synthtriangle, synthsine, and synthsaw are each a version of simplesynth with its own basic wave form.
mode explorer, is a powerful mode calculator with a very long list of preset 12-TET modes you can choose from a listbox, it also allows you to input a step pattern from which it will compute modes to choose from. It's most powerful feature is the ability to choose a temperament and a quantity of notes with which to compute ALL of the possible scales. choosing a scale from the results will cause a list of modes to become available. choosing a mode will cause the keyboard to appear, tuned and ready to play. I have 8GB of RAM and the mode calculator crashes my browser when I choose temperaments higher than 36-TET so choose carefully.
Left hand trainer with chords is a synth made with the idea of exploring the sounds of chords in oddball temperaments and modes. it will allow you to choose to use standard chords based on weird tunings or to stick with chords that are intrinsic to the mode of the instrument. I will be creating many versions, each in it's own mode.
this whole project started with virtual 6-hole flutes. I made a bunch of flute maker programs and they all got the flutomat wrong but the virtual flutes work just fine so some of them will be added here from time to time.
earlier virtual keyboards were clicky and not the best for recording but still work for exploring scales and modes.
I made a mode calculator that you can use by inputting a step pattern and bell frequency. you can also use any of the the simplesynth variants this same way.
